Friction Tester

Automatic Friction Abrasion Analyzer - TSf-503
Accurate Measurement of Static & Kinetic Friction
Friction testers are essential instruments for quantitatively evaluating the coefficient of friction (COF) between two contacting surfaces. Accurate friction data is critical for understanding sliding behavior, wear resistance, surface durability, lubrication performance, and material functionality across a wide range of industries.
The TSf-503 friction tester combines precision mechanics, sensitive force detection, and advanced software analysis to deliver reliable, reproducible results that cannot be achieved through manual or simplified test methods.
Key Features & Benefits:

Crank-Shaped Biaxial Balance Design
The Triboster TSf-503 introduces a proprietary biaxial balance technology, which fundamentally improves friction measurement accuracy.
Unlike conventional friction testers – where inertia and external forces influence the load cell – the Triboster’s balance separates functions into two independent arms. This design isolates inertia effects and external disturbances, ensuring that only true friction forces are measured.

Direction-Independent, Highly Reproducible Data
Thanks to the crank-shaped balance and the aligned rotation axis:
• The normal load remains identical in forward and backward motion
• Friction values are unaffected by direction of travel
• Measurements are reliable during reciprocating motion
This makes the Triboster especially suitable for two-way friction measurements, wear studies, and long-cycle testing.

Linear Reciprocating Motion
• Stroke length: 1 to 80 mm
• Speed range: 0.1 to 100 mm/s
• Cycles: up to 10,000 repetitions
This allows simulation of real sliding conditions such as rubbing, wiping, and repeated contact.

Comprehensive COF Analysis
Triboster systems measure:
• Static COF (initial movement phase)
• Kinetic COF (steady sliding phase)
• COF vs. time
• COF vs. load
• COF vs. speed
• COF vs. repetition cycles
Advanced routines enable up to 50 static COF values in a single stroke using stop-and-go motion.

Automatic Counterpart Lift-Up Function
After each measurement stroke, the contact part automatically lifts off the sample surface. This feature prevents unintended wear during return motion, protects delicate surfaces and improves test repeatability
