Colorimeter

Colorimeter

Colour is a key indicator of quality, consistency and purity. Whether in edible oils, beverages, chemicals, pharmaceuticals or fuels – the colour of a material can reveal a lot about its processing, composition and suitability. But human perception is subjective – what looks “yellowish” to one person may appear differently to another, especially under different lighting or fatigue. That’s why objective, instrument-based colour measurement is essential for reliable, repeatable results.

Using instruments such as spectrophotometers or colorimeters, we can measure the transmitted or reflected light through a sample across the visible spectrum. The resulting data – often plotted as a spectral curve – acts like a “fingerprint” for that particular colour. That way, colours can be quantified, compared and reproduced with confidence.

Our visual and automated color measurement instruments (spectrophotometers for transmission and reflectance; colorimeters and color comparators) are synonymous with accuracy in the analysis of liquids and solids including: edible, industrial & fuel oils, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, beverages & foodstuffs. The instruments and ISO17025 certified reference materials comply with international test methods and standards such as ASTM, DIN, AOCS and ISO.
